As a musician and a songwriter he has accomplished what many dream of, a way to constantly create music not only for fans but for a world where his music collides with film, television and advertising. Lichens has been signed to EMI Publishing, Sony ATV, Kobalt Music and has now happily found a home with Warner Chappell.
Lichens has written with numerous recording artists and is a highly sought after co-writer. Artists include such luminaries as Phillip Phillips, Fefe Dobson, Walk Off The Earth, Tyler Shaw, OkGo, Jason Castro (from American Idol), Tessanne Chin (From The Voice), Kevin Griffin, Forever in Your Mind, Lifehouse, Toby Mac, Augustana and A Band Of Horses and many more. His musical works have been used by Google, Microsoft, Nissan, Kia, Cadbury Chocolate, Applebees, Kraft, T-Mobile, The Super Bowl, MLB, UFC, ESPN, CBS, ABC, Fox and HBO as well as The Waterhouse, She’s The Man, Suits, Mysteries of Laura, Bad Judge, Blackish, The Middle, Veep, Preacher, Notorious, The Goldbergs and The Muppets, to name a few.
A Grammy and Dove award winner, Lichens happy go lucky, diligent and energetic attitude comes through in his writing style and his willingness to work well as a solo artist and in a team environment. His band, Dave Not Dave (with Dave Bassett) is set to release a full album in the near future. Their track “Cold Blood” was recently featured on the show Suits and has over a million spins on various social platforms. Lichens continues to write with artists and create music for film, television, brands and commercials.
